Laminate flooring planks install with a tongue and groove system so each plank has a tongued side and a grooved side. Next drywall screws should be placed at each wall stud at the bottom edge of the first row of planks. Insert spacers or wedges which you can get from any DIY market between the wall and the flooring.

Apply your adhesive in a serpentine pattern a repeating letter S to the back of the first plank of the bottom row. Measure the length and width of the wall area to determine the total area. Place the plank on the wall above your expansion gap and face-nail the plank at the stud location. Inspect each plank for damage before installing.
Leave a 2-inch gap from the bottom of the tape to the floor. Measure and mark this distance then hammer in a nail on the spot. We recommend cutting off the tongue on this first row to avoid any problem with the expansion gap.
