How To Level Concrete Floor Outside
In this video I show you how to level a concrete floor.
How to level concrete floor outside. It is a lot easier than it looks. With larger tiles the acceptable differential is a mere 18 inch per 10 feet. Pour it into the hole or snaking crack and smooth it out with a putty knife so that it is level with the rest of the floor.
But unlike concrete it flows easier and sets up much faster. Use a concrete rake or trowel to spread the mixture if necessary. Here I am using Mapei Self Leveler Plus and Mapei Primer T.
Once its spread out it continues to flow evenly and levels itself out. Or you can incorporate decorative inlays such as strips of wood or metal by adhering them to the base concrete and then pouring the overlay to the level of the inlay. Self-leveling overlays are simply poured or pumped onto the floor surface and then distributed evenly using a spreader.
Build a wooden frame around the edges of the concrete slab that protrudes 2 or 3 inches above the current level. The new concrete you pour binds to the mesh. See below for a shopping list and toolsSUBSCRIBE to This Old H.
Do not worry about an unlevel surface gravity will act on the mixture evenly and level the surface over time. You can purchase a roll of welded wire mesh at a home improvement store then simply spread it out in a single layer over the old concrete. The plan is build a brick wall up to 25mm above the existing floor.
Apply Concrete Leveler Primer with a soft-bristle push broom being careful to spread the liquid evenly across the surface without creating puddles. Place a leveling layer of sand on the surface to cover any depressions. Press it down so it is flat and level before you add the new concrete.
